Defying all setbacks emanating from its previous partnership with Seals and Packaging (SAPIL) in the early 1990s, ANSA McAL Group persevered to successfully establish ANSA McAL Trading Limited (AMTL) in 1992. After 30 years, the company made a strategic decision to streamline its operations with the creation of two independent entities: ANSA McAL Distribution Inc. (AMDI) and ANSA McAL Guyana Inc. (AMGI).

AMDI is continuing the stellar work of AMTL, delivering products and brands to our wholesale and retail customers in the most efficient, cost-effective manner, supported by brand management at world-class standards. Meanwhile, AMGI champions the operations of the Group with an emphasis on Real Estate Development in Guyana.

Over the years, AMDI has proudly served approximately 95% of Guyana’s population. To achieve this, the group understood the importance of being persistent and strategic in its endeavors. Such strategic pursuits can be noted in 2007 when the company moved from the East Bank to a larger facility at Beterverwagting, on the East Coast of Demerara.

This fundamental move saw the expansion of our warehouse and an opportunity to create an ergonomically conducive environment for our ever-growing and most valued resource, our people. Employment opportunities were catapulted resulting in the provision of over 300 jobs across Guyana.

ANSA McAL traditionally initiated local operations with five group products; these were, Carib Beer, Royal Extra Stout, Smalta, TrinChloro Bleach, and Swinger Matches. AMDI has since diversified its comprehensive portfolio with more than 3000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) of excellent products spread across three major divisions: Food and Consumer Goods (Food, Proctor and Gamble, and Frozen foods), Beverage (Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic), and Health and Wellness.
