Description

We are looking to employ a maintenance supervisor with an outstanding knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance. A maintenance supervisor is expected to have fantastic organizational and time management skills. You will display natural leadership and possess fantastic communication skills with a great eye for detail.

Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, hydraulic systems, and basic tools and appliances. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience / Knowledge:

  • 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor (essential).
  • Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Effective budgeting and performance management.
  • Fantastic organizational and leadership skills.
  • Great eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Inter-personal skills

  • Ability to build rapport and understandings with end users.
  • Good verbal communication skills with all levels of staff.
  • Able to work well in team settings.

Responsibilities

  1. Inspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.
  2. Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.
  3. Employ, supervise and train workers.
  4. Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.
  5. Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.
  6. Maintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage.
  7. Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.
  8. Conduct preventative maintenance work.
  9. Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.
  10. Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.
  11. Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.
  12. Perform minor repairs
  13. Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  14. Install appliances and equipment
  15. Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
  16. Maintain, service, clean and properly store equipment
  17. Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)
  18. Inspect and repair all damages to building surfaces
  19. Participate in different projects (e.g. renovations)
  20. Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
  21. Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
  22. Perform other related duties and activities as required
