Description

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for deliveries, checking delivery content against the shipping invoice, addressing and resolving any problems with shipments, stocks or transfers, and works with both customers and distributors to address any shipping and delivery issues.

  • Ensure goods are received accurately while following company policies.
  • Prepare daily reports on goods received, shortage or damage returned to suppliers.

Job Requirements/Specifications

Education:  

  • Must have 5 CXC subjects with passes in English and Math

Experience:   At least six months experience in a similar position.

Essential Skills:

  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • A team player.
  • Able to handle a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Accuracy and attention to Details.

Responsibilities

  1. Receive only goods approved by a purchase order and meets company standards.
  2. All products should be checked thoroughly for expiry dates and damages at the point of receiving.
  3. Expiry dates should be within the grace period of the company policy and should be recorded on invoices.
  4. Report any discrepancy to the Senior Receiving Clerk/ Supervisor and should be noted to suppliers and referenced on invoice.
  5. Ensure to sign received on invoices (both original and suppliers duplicate).
  6. Cash invoice should be taken to accounts department to obtain payments for suppliers.  
  7. Carry samples of new items to Data Processing Department
  8. All physical received transactions should also be received systematically before goods are physically allocated for storage or merchandising.
  9. Work alongside porters Ensure received goods are being delivered to respective locations in a safe and timely manner.

Remuneration

Salaries and Benefits are based on Foodmaxx existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Foodmaxx. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
