The incumbent will be responsible to assist the chef in preparing dishes and orders . Supervise all activities in the restaurant. The cook must have a cear understanding of Italian Recipes, standards and dishes.
Requirements
Certificate or High School Diploma
Certificate in Cooking of Italian Dishes, or an Culinary arts would be equivalent
Food Handlers certificate
Responsibilities
The incumbent must be able to:
- Prepares and cook all food items for menu and catered events following standardized recipes.
- Estimates cooking needs, requisitions adequate supplies, inventories supplies, and keeps records of products made and used.
- Ensure execution of established safety, security, quality, and store operations policies, procedures and practices
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking food items and helping the Chef.
- Restocking of goods in the kitchen from the stock room.
- Ensure kitchen is clean at all times.
- Ensure all food preparation are completed for the next shift or day.
- Ensure all equipment are turn off at all times.
- Any other related tasks as assigned
Remuneration
Salaries and Benefits are based on Mama Mia's Italian Restaurant existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of our company. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
