We are seeking a freelancer who will provide bookkeeping services for 5 hours per week. This role works as an independent contractor.
Successful completion of accounting skills assessment
A minimum of 2 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
Experience working with QuickBooks Desktop
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
What Will Put You Ahead
Associate’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
Experience working in a remote work environment
Compile and prepare AR invoices and supporting documentation the day after the billing period ends and submit
Follow-up on all past-due invoices
Process incoming AP invoices, gathering proper approvals, ensuring timely payment, and recording necessary documentation
Manage Quickbooks Desktop Bank Feeds and ensure all transactions are accurate and recorded promptly
Respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Working knowledge of performing duties within accounting information systems (AIS), including QuickBooks
Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while meeting predetermined deadlines
Ability to communicate orally and in writing using a variety of computer-based audio-visual tools using the English language
Ability to produce own work using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and monitor.
