Overview

The IT/Database assistant will provide computer and technology support to the campus and all other affiliated buildings (apartments, etc) and will work directly with the School Data Administrator. The work spectrum will range from supporting the management of the school database to offering support to parents and students when accessing the GIA portal, therefore, knowledge and certifications in working with database or data manipulation would be an asset.

 

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5 subjects C.X.C including IT or EPDM

  • Diploma or similar certification in Computer Science/IT 

  • Knowledge of working with databases and the ability to quickly adapt to new software will be an asset

  • At least 2-3 years experience in a similar field 

  • Experience in customer service and database systems is an asset 

  • Exposure and knowledge of offering telephone support and troubleshooting

Responsibilities

Reports to: IT Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the operation of the school database software (Admin Plus)

  • Assist in the carrying out of Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) test

  • Supporting Gradebook Management for Teachers

  • Plus Portals support (Parents and Teachers)

  • Work along with Data Administrator in running report cards and transcripts,

  • Assist in the management of the school’s G Suite platform (google accounts, drive permissions, app controls, etc) 

  • General IT support when necessary. 

  • Any other duties assigned by the Head of IT, immediate supervisor or Admin

  • The job will sometimes involve providing services outside of work hours, so flexibility in this regard will be key.
