Description

Responsibilities include coordinating staffing and assisting in management of the Home Improvement Center as needed and ensuring the highest level of customer service.

Requirements

Education:  

  • Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • At least five (5) subjects CXC, Grades one (1) to three (3), inclusive of Mathematics and English.

Experience:   At least two (2) years’ experience working in a Hardware or Home Furnishing environment preferably in a Supervisory Capacity.

Essential Skills:

  • Professional working proficiency – Written and verbal
  • Able to form effective working relationships with other team members.
  • Must possess a positive attitude.
  • Flexible, able to cope under pressure
  • Must possess organizing skills – shelve replenishment

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in leading staffing and scheduling of the workforce with particular emphasis in areas such as sales and maintenance.
  2. Oversee compliance of staff and all associates with established Company policies and standards, such as personnel practices.
  3. Help solve problems that affect the store's service, efficiency, and productivity.
  4. Provide and inspire outstanding service to our customers.
  5. Exercise judgment and discretion along, and in conjunction with, the Store Operations Manager, Department Managers, and other Store Supervisors, in the day-to-day operations of the Home Improvement Department.
  6. Ensure department is well kept and restocked.
  7. Attend weekly and monthly departmental meetings to address and resolve any issues, policies and procedures and continual training processes.
  8. Work with the Human Resources Department to communicate any important information.
  9. Ensuring products are placed on well-labeled shelves. Replenishing Shelves with reserve stock once the stock count is low.
  10. Training new staff on products.
  11. Continuously improve through feedback.

Remuneration

Salaries and Benefits are based on the company’s existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of the company. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
