Description

PERFORMS THE FOLLOWING TASKS ON AN ON-GOING BASIS:

PEOPLE:

  1. Continuously provide employees with verbal recognition, direction, and support.
  2. Communicate with employees to keep them informed on restaurant procedures.
  3. Evaluate work procedures, review standards, identify methods for increasing efficiency or effectiveness, and respond proactively to any needs that have arisen.
  4. Create and modify the weekly work schedule to accommodate employees, volume or other emerging trends.
  5. Teach/coach/document and discipline employees who fail to meet standards to maintain a high-quality workforce.
  6. Ensure employees follow safety, sanitation and security procedures.
  7. Conduct table visits to build rapport, assess customer satisfaction, develop relationships, and promote repeat business.
  8. Listen to comments, criticisms, and feedback from customers, employees and others to gain an understanding of areas of strength and opportunity to improve personal/restaurant performance.
  9. Greet employees as they begin their shift to promote a positive atmosphere
  10. Perform employees’ tasks such as preparing menu items, bussing tables, and serving food to help employees.
  11. Prepare restaurant and employees for shift and ensure the restaurant is ready to open according to standards.
  12. Resolves customer complaints.

 

Other Duties

  1. Organise cash drops, and verifies deposit slips.
  2. Observe employees while they work to ensure adherence to policy and positive customer experience.
  3. Monitor and control food and labor costs using established methods to meet goals.
  4. Work with Owner regarding sales, new procedures, legal concerns, or other restaurant business to keep him/her informed.
  5. Evaluate the condition of equipment, and conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure smooth operation and save on costs. Fixes minor equipment problems (light bulbs) or calls for maintenance assistance when necessary.
  6. Read and review invoices to verify the accuracy of invoice specs and determine expenses, amount, and type of product being delivered to the restaurant.
  7. Inspect product levels and storage areas to determine if enough product is on hand; and to maintain proper storage, rotation, the freshness of product and sanitation conditions.
  8. Observe food prep by watching employees’ portions, cook, and heat items to ensure the correctness of recipe, temperature and quality.
  9. Communicate with other supervisors to (including the use of the manager's log) to ensure that assigned cleaning duties were completed up-to-standard.
  10. Supervise deliveries by counting and checking product quality to ensure that the billing and delivery meet amount and standards.
  11. Place orders with vendors to maintain adequate stock of inventory.
  12. Inspect tastes and touches food to ensure freshness, proper temperature, and recipe adherence during line checks.
  13. Compare register receipts with total ticket sales and maintain proper financial records of promotions, complimentary items to upset customers and discounts to ensure proper money collection.
  14. Investigate safety issues by interviewing those involved in the accident/event to determine causes and recommend solutions.
  15. Expedite food preparation by checking lead times and monitoring ticket times to ensure that food is prepared and served timely.
  16. Perform employees’ tasks such as preparing menu items, bussing tables and serving food to ensure the quality of the guest experience.

Requirements

Qualifications

  1. 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory position, in the food industry.
  2. Recognized diploma in Management or similar field.
  3. 7 CXC passes, inclusive of Mathematics and English

Remuneration

Salary Range - 100,000-140,000
