Marine Mammal Observation Officer at NSB OMEGA GUYANA INC.

Job Requirements
- Higher education degree in an area related to marine biology/ecology, nature conservation or equivalent
- Preferably minimum of 1-3 years’ experience is preferable in marine works or marine mammal-, turtle- or protected species observation or conservation
- Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) Marine Mammal Observer Mitigation training, and/or Protected Species Observer (PSO) certificate and/or experience preferable
- Valid BOSIET or STCW Sea Survival Training Certificate preferable
- Excellent command of the English, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge about marine mammal, turtle and protected species present in Guyana
- Willing to perform rotational work, including weekends & public holidays (i.e. 4 weeks work, followed by 4 weeks leave)
- Ability to cope with working at sea with changing weather conditions, and noisy environments
- Affinity with marine construction/oil & gas projects
- Well-organized team player that can also work independently
- Flexible mindset, being able to function in multi-disciplinary teams
