Operating a tractor and trailer unit or equivalent in accordance with safety procedures.
Performing safety inspections as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Maintaining a DOT driver log and record according to regulations and requirements.
Completing work tickets to ensure conformance with instructions and orders.
Keeping radio or telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions.
Conducting all pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor-trailer unit.
Ability to work variable schedules/shifts and long hours.
Ability to interact with others in a team environment.
Ability to work in all types of weather and conditions.
Loading, securing and unloading cargo or shipments if necessary.
Performing minor emergency road service when needed.
