The position shall cover the following areas:

The Administrative Assistant provides high-level, confidential administrative support to the appropriate persons. Duties entail clerical, administrative and project-based and include, arranging meetings, handling information requests, preparing reports and correspondence.  


Job Requirements/Specifications


  • Must have 5 CXC subjects with passes in English and Math
  • Knowledge of word processing, databases and spreadsheets.

Experience:   At least one (1) years’ experience in a similar position.


Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

Confidential administrative support

  1. Provide general administrative and clerical support.
  2. Receive and sort mail and deliveries.
  3. Maintain appointment diary either manually or electronically.
  4. Monitor and maintain office equipment.
  5. Control inventory relevant to area.
  6. Communicate caller requests to management and deliver all messages properly, including correct names and information to the relevant persons promptly.
  7. Transfer caller to the correct departments.
  8. Screen all callers who wish to communicate with Management.
  9. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any Manager.
  10. Prepare correspondence and documents.
  11. Schedule appointments for relevant persons.
  12. Co-ordinate meetings and organize catering.
  13. Liaise with staff, clients, etc.
  14. Answer calls and handle queries
  15. Assist in the filing of documents and typing of any letters, invoices etc.
  16. Book meetings/Coordinate team briefings and meetings.
  17. Take dictation
  18. External and internal client follow up on previously requested appointments, tasks, meetings etc.
  19. Maintains Manager’s appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
  20. Prioritization of email calendar and project daily.


Salaries and Benefits

Salaries and Benefits are based on Giftland existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Giftland. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
