Yard Attendant

The Yard Attendant is responsible for monitoring reefer bays, loading and unloading containers when needed, and managing yard maintenance tasks such as dust control, washing, and debris removal. They ensure water availability for operations, assist with Peterson operations as a rigger, and help control traffic within the yard. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience in yard operations or similar roles preferred.

• Ability to handle physical tasks and work in varying weather conditions.

• Reefer Bay Monitoring: Oversee the operations of reefer bays to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety and operational standards.

• Container Handling: Assist with the stuffing and destuffing of containers as needed, ensuring safe and efficient loading/unloading processes.

• Dust Control: Implement dust control measures by soaking the yard three times a week, twice per day during sunny conditions, to maintain a clean environment.

• Yard Washing: Perform yard washing activities twice a month to remove sand and dust particles, contributing to a clean and safe working area.

• Debris Management: Ensure the yard is clear of debris, maintaining a safe and organized environment for operations.

• Water Supply: Monitor and ensure the availability of water necessary for daily operations.

• Peterson Operations Support: Assist in Peterson operations as a rigger, ensuring proper safety and operational procedures are followed.

• Traffic Control: Assist in managing yard traffic when necessary to maintain smooth operations and safety within the compound.

• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of the yard and associated operations.
