The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the safety, reliability, and efficiency of all electrical equipment, including power generation, transmission devices, and machinery controls. The Engineer will provide technical leadership in energy efficiency and ensure all systems meet strict regulatory and statutory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) to create project plans and diagrams
Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems, evaluate finished products, and conduct research on energy production and conservation
Analytical thinker, detail-oriented, problem solving, leadership skills.
Licensed professional engineer would be an asset
Design, implement, maintain and improve electrical systems, instruments, facilities, equipment, and components for the company’s electrical system of industrial and commercial purposes
Recommend equipment for the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power for projects
Oversee the fabrication, installation, operation and repair of electrical systems while supervising technical staff
Prepare technical reports, design specs, and documentation for new and existing electrical projects including but not limited to estimating material costs for budget preparation
Create testing procedures, where necessary and work within maintenance schedules and company established quality management system
Investigate and diagnose electrical problems in plant and equipment and implement corrective actions.
Ensure all installations meet standing instructions, engineering practices and safety regulations (GPL & GEA), while keeping up to date with safety and other requirements.
