Description

Responsible for supporting laboratory operations by conducting product and sensory analyses using approved methods, preparing reports, and maintaining and calibrating equipment. Assists with quality assurance activities including inspection of raw materials and finished products, sanitation checks, and pest control monitoring. Handles exchange and return data, performs basic data analysis, and supports the overall functioning of the department while carrying out additional tasks as assigned by supervisory staff.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • CAPE/A-Level passes in relevant subjects, an Associate Degree (ODS), or completion of at least one (1) year of a relevant university program.

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant laboratory experience.

  • Basic computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet use.

  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, including procedures for document control, exchange and returns, nonconformance, risk and opportunity management, and change management.

  • Ability and willingness to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory analyses, including product development and sensory evaluation, in accordance with approved QA methods.

  • Prepare accurate and timely laboratory reports.

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and resources.

  • Manage and record Exchange & Return data.

  • Carry out sanitation checks and SOP inspections.

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the department.

  • Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Perform basic data analysis.

  • Conduct weekly pest inspections of the facility.

  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
