A NGO facility housing elderly women is seeking a live-in Matron for its Home located in Georgetown. The Matron will be required to oversee the operations of the Home, the well-being of the elderly residents and monitor staff duties. Meals and accommodation will be provided.
Qualifications in Elderly Care and First Aid would be an asset.
Visits the residents on a daily basis to determine the state of their well being
May be required to administer medication to residents as prescribed by the relevant doctor
May perform physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines as set by the relevant doctor or sponsor
May be required to attend to a shut-in resident in the absence of a caregiver
Immediately notify the sponsors/committee of an emergency pertaining to a resident and respond as directed.
Determines residents’ need of activities or services that may improve their overall well being and make such recommendations to the House Mother
Accompanies residents to social activities that the Home is invited to and designates a staff member to perform this duty should an outing take place on the Matron’s scheduled day off
Give employees instructions in work methods and routines and supervises their performance in carrying out their daily duties
Assigns duties for cooking and cleaning and adjusts work activities to accommodate residents
Assigns duties for cooking and cleaning and adjusts work activities to facilitate staff day’s off
Ensures schedule is set for staff’s days off and annual leave is well coordinated to enable assigned duties are completed
Ensures all staff members log their daily time of arrival and departure in the time sheet
Reports staff absence to the House Mother and Treasurer
Evaluates employees’ performance as required and submits recommendations for promotions or terminations in a fair and judicious manner
Supervises and assists with the serving of meals to the residents
Sits and have meals with the residents to foster and develop relationship that will be conducive to the overall well being of the residents
Assists with the daily duties when staff members are absent
Assists with the planning of nutritious meals according to menus provided and compiling list of foodstuffs and cleaning supplies needed on a weekly basis
Arranges to have market supplies and other items purchased as needed on a weekly basis
Records all purchases and payments in the relevant logbooks
Records all donations received by the Home from companies, individuals or charitable organizations in the relevant logbooks.
Receives correspondence and submits items to the Secretary
Collects rent and records data in the logbook and submits all monies collected to the Treasurer
Maintains a neat and tidy office and ensures all records are kept in proper order that they are easily accessible by any member of the Executive Committee
Arranges for outside services such as maintenance, repairs, minor electrical works and plumbing
Keeps a daily diary of the Home’s activities and submits a written monthly report to the Executive Committee based on the daily dairy
