A Warehouse Assistant/ Bike Rider, also known as a Warehouse Assistant/Bike Rider provides support to warehouse operations and bonded inventory management. This role involves assisting with the movement of goods, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Warehouse Assistant/ Bike Rider plays a crucial role in facilitating efficient warehouse operations and maintaining the integrity of inventory.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must hold a valid driver’s license with the appropriate motorcycle endorsement and be willing to use their own vehicle for company courier tasks.
Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is desirable.
Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
Familiarity with warehouse equipment operation, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, is a plus.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
Goods Movement: Assist in the loading and unloading of goods, both manually and using appropriate equipment, such as pallet jacks or hand trucks.
Inventory Handling: Assist in the physical movement of inventory within the warehouse, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and organization.
Order Fulfillment: Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently, following instructions and ensuring proper documentation.
Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking shelves and storage areas as needed.
Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, after proper training and certification.
Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and security measures to protect goods, personnel, and property within the warehouse. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and procedures for bonded inventory.
Quality Control: Assist in inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for quality and quantity, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods.
Safety Awareness: Promote a culture of safety by identifying potential hazards, reporting incidents, and following safety guidelines.
Courier & Messenger Services: Act as a primary bike rider/messenger for local deliveries. Navigate urban environments efficiently to ensure the timely, safe, and secure hand-off of documents or small parcels.
Store Support: Assist on the shop floor whenever needed. This includes helping customers, assembling furniture or equipment, and moving heavy items.
