  1. Preparing and sending out statements as required.

  2. Following up with insurance companies to ensure payments are received in a timely manner.

  3. Maintaining individual Insurance companies’ files.

  4. Updating of patient's accounts.

  5. Preparation of patient's final accounts (discharges).

  6. Interacting with patient relatives (informing patient relatives daily of their patient’s account and offering any explanation about their bill if needed)Manage all accounting transactions


- Five Subjects CSEC inclusive of Mathematics and English Language

- CAT would be an asset

- Must be computer literate.

- Good oral and written communication Skills.

- Three years of working experience in an Accounting environment.

  • Work experience as an Accountant

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables

  • Experience with general ledger functions

  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills


  1. Daily preparation of spreadsheets (statements showing total number of patients in the hospital to date, their current hospitalization charges, deposits to date, and their outstanding balances.

  2. Recording and filing of invoices.

  3.  Preparation of surgical quotation(s) for patients.

  4. Controlling of patient debtors (following up with patient debtors ensuring that payments are made within the allotted time, updating the individual accounts once payments have been made, and writing of demand letters to those who fail to honor their agreement and submit to Accountant for approval.

  5. Prepare budget forecasts

  6. Publish financial statements on time

  7. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings

  8. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable

  9. Ensure timely bank payments

  10. Compute taxes and prepare tax returns

  11. Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements

  12. Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity

  13. Audit financial transactions and documents

  14. Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary

  15. Comply with financial policies and regulations
