The Cashier is responsible for processing cash and debit card transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established policies and procedures with our shipping department. Duties and responsibilities of the Cashier include greeting customers when entering or leaving the establishment, and keeping reports of cash and credit transactions.


  • A minimum of five subject CXC with passes in English Language and Mathematics.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Cashier.   

  • Familiarity with Electronic equipment such as Point of Sales Systems and Bar Code devices

  • In-depth understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.

  • An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

  • Ability to work flexible hours and in a fast pace environment.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.


  • Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate, and providing a receipt to every customer

  • Process all sales transactions made with cash, cheque, and debit cards

  • Accurately record purchases in the point-of-sale system and balance cash drawer daily or when required

  • Operating scanners, cash registers, and other electronic devices

  • Reconcile cash register and sales receipt as well as generate reports for debit and cash sales.

  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the register and request additional when necessary.

  • Assist in resolving customers’ complaints in a professional manner. 

  • Maintain correct cash balances at cash registers

  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
