Description

  • We seek a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our construction and engineering department in Guyana. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and infrastructure that are critical to our operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering within industrial settings, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree or further professional certifications would be advantageous.

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer in the construction or oil and gas industry.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes, electrical assemblies, and systems integration.

  • Familiarity with electrical design software and tools, such as ETAP, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.

  • Excellent analytical skills, along with the ability to create detailed reports and project documentation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Legal authorization to work in Guyana, or the ability to obtain it.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites within Guyana as required.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex electrical systems and circuits for various construction projects related to oil and gas infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient system designs.

  • Conduct system evaluations and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades to electrical systems and components.

  • Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.

  • Perform detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.

  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

  • Provide quality assurance for ongoing projects, ensuring adherence to codes and regulations.

  • Ensure adherence to the company's safety programs including ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Safety & Health Management System and ISO 37001 AMBS systems and procedures.

  • Provide technical advice and consultancy on engineering methods and solutions to clients and team members.

  • Actively participate in bi/tender process involving the company in private and public bids/tenders, supporting and submitting a CV as part of the bidding processes.

  • Offer technical support and troubleshooting assistance during system breakdowns, providing solutions as required promptly.

  • Prepare project status reports and work closely with the team and clients to resolve any issues that arise during the construction phase.
