Overall Responsibilities:
The kitchen Assistant is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Cook in the maintenance of the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Job Requirements/Specifications
Education:
· A Sound Secondary education.
· Food Handler certificate
. Certificate from a recognize institution
Experience: At least (6) months experience in a similar position.
Responsibilities (Include but not limited to):
1. Provide assistance with the preparation of food
2. Prepare kitchen and materials
3. Clean dishes and maintain sanitation in kitchen
4. Packing, labeling, organizing, and storing leftover food
5. Ensure the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
6. Wash utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
7. Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients.
8. Wash, peel, chop, cut and helping to prepare salads and desserts.
9. Disposing of garbage.
10. Assist is all area necessary within the Kitchen/preparation area.
11.Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
12.Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
13. Any other duties assigned.
