Environmental Management Consultants Inc. (EMC Inc) is seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual to provide support to the EMC Inc. Management Team to create, coordinate, and execute communication plans to increase public awareness. This position offers the potential for professional growth in a highly regarded working environment.
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
§ 2-3 years’ experience in a similar communication position.
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms and other software.
§ Graphic design skills a plus
§ Outstanding writing and editing skills; strong attention to detail.
§ Strong communications skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
§ Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
The Communication Officer shall efficiently and effectively carry out the tasks described below:
1. Manage the EMC Inc’s social media communications.
2. Maintain a database of media organizations and contacts within them.
3. Develop and maintain working relationships with journalists in multiple types of media outlets.
4. Write, edit and distribute various types of content, including material for a website, press releases, marketing material and other types of content to the public.
5. Prepare and manage the EMC Inc’s communication budget.
6. Other tasks as directed by the Finance Director and Managing Director.
