Description

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Retail Store Porter to join our dynamic team. The Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store, ensuring an inviting shopping environment for customers. This position involves a mix of customer service, maintenance, and support tasks that contribute to the overall smooth operation of the retail store.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to help customers and team members.

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items as required.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • The position requires regular movement, including lifting and carrying items.

Responsibilities

  1. Store Maintenance:

    • Regularly clean and maintain the store’s interior and exterior areas, including aisles, restrooms, and entryways.

    • Ensure displays and merchandise are organized, tidy, and attractively presented.

    • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste by company policies.

  2. Customer Assistance:

    • Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions and helping them locate products.

    • Assist with carrying large or heavy items for customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

  3. Stock Management:

    • Help with inventory management by restocking shelves and ensuring products are properly labeled and displayed.

    • Assist in organizing and storing incoming deliveries, ensuring items are stored safely and efficiently.

  4. Safety and Security:

    • Monitor and report any safety hazards or security concerns to management promptly.

    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe shopping environment.

  5. Team Support:

    • Collaborate with other store team members to ensure smooth operations.

    • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required.
