 This job description is descriptive and not restrictive.

Reporting to the Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer; the MPL is fully accountable for the timely supply of all locations  in production, sanitation, maintenance products and supplies; and the equally timely export of finished products in accordance with the Export Schedule.

 For this, the MPL:

1. Keeps the Production, Export Performance Review and related files up-to-date, and continuously refers to it to order changes in products to produce in the factories; for the timely acquisition of strategic production supplies: empty jars & covers, citric acid, cartons, etc.; and for the export of finished products in accordance with the Export Schedule.

2. Manages the Logistics Centre employees and workers to achieve the export targets and the proper documentation therefore;

3. Prepares budgets for barter items, crew rations, NWD kitchens and rations for sale to the factory workers and submits them in good time;

4. Receives from the factories requisitions for other goods for purchase and prepares budgets covering them in a timely manner;

5. Assures the timely purchase of approved items and their timely transportation to the concerned locations;

6. Assures the timely clearing of goods imported from abroad;

7.Assures the timely preparation of documents for export of Certified Organic goods in collaboration with the Quality Manager.

8. Receives and stores all goods purchased or/and brought in

9. In close collaboration with the Factory Manager, makes sure the factories are supplied in good time with the required barter goods, sanitation, production & maintenance supplies, and replacement parts;

10. Ensures the Critical Control Points (CCP) and FIFO are continuously monitored, critical limits met and proper monitoring records kept in the regard;

11. Makes sure that appropriate procedures are followed when the CCP’s are out of control and pre-defined corrective action are immediate taken;

12. Ensure that the labelled products are of the quality standards expected as per the requirements of the Company.

13. Supervise the loading of container, taking all security measures to ensure the proper loading and documentation of same.

14. Ensure all documentations are correctly done and sent after the export of a container.

15. Follow closely the work of the Import/ Export Officer.

16. Supervise the Security Officer and ensuring that same is enforcing Company Rules and Procedures.

17. At all times strives to reduce operating costs in accordance with targets set by the Management.

18. Maintain proficiency through technical literature in the Certifications of the Company and the regulations it entails: IFS Version 8, Organic EU 848 and NOP, Kosher, GMP and HACCP. Anti-terrorist Act and Food Defense Act.

19. Any other duty assigned within the scope of the company.

Requirements

Applicants are required a valid ID or ID + work permit if foreigner.

Good command of spoken and Written English. Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

Valid Driver’s licence : CAR & VAN.

Police Clearance (less than 3 months)

Education. CXC level minimum or technical institute diploma.

Preferably 2 years’ experience minimum in a similar position.

Proficiency in EXCEL is a must.

The job is open to Women and Men. Equal salary for equal qualifications and equal job. Therefore, applicant must be ready to travel within Guyana to and from production sites and logistics sites at all times with proper notice.

Knowledge in HSE and first Aid is a plus.

Working hours are 8 to 5, Monday to Friday. Due to the activity of the company processing perishable goods and the challenge of logistics in Georgetown nowadays, the MPL might be required to work on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday to complete the mission. MPL is a managerial position which requires supervising several staff and lead by example.
