Description

The Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  • Associate of the ACCA or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 – 5 years’ accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of financial statements.

  • Communicate with the external auditors.

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts reports.

  • Consolidation of operating and capital budgets.

  • Responsible for bank reconciliation and all tax-related matters with GRA.

  • Preparation of monthly salaries and all associated statutory returns.

  • Preparation of annual returns for the Company Registrar.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of all accounts payable and receivable.

  • Posting of all vehicle sales and amortized interest for motor vehicles.

  • Overlooking and managing the accounts department.

  • Manage overseas vendor accounts associated with BAL and PMI.

  • Handle all transactions associated with PMI that are required for the preparation of management accounts, overseas vendors, salaries, and the necessary statutory returns.

  • Responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy for BAL and PMI.

  • Consistently seek ways to improve the day-to-day operations of the Accounts/Finance Department.

  • Assess the company’s performance against the annual budget.

  • Represent the company to any financial partners.

  • Calculate any potential risks of financial activities.

  • Verification of the accuracy of financial records.

  • Verify bank deposits and bank reconciliation statements.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting and tax laws.
