Mechanic

The Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. The role involves carrying out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and performing repairs in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.

• Certificate, Diploma, or Technical Vocational Training in Mechanical Maintenance, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a mechanic or in a similar maintenance role.

• Valid driver's licence would be an asset.

• Experience with diesel engines, heavy-duty equipment, or fleet vehicles is an advantage.

• Inspect vehicles, equipment, and machinery to identify faults and mechanical issues.

• Diagnose problems using testing equipment and technical knowledge.

• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and tune-ups.

• Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and hydraulic components.

• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and servicing schedules.

• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper functionality and safety.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organized.

• Adhere to all company safety procedures and environmental regulations.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform field repairs when required.

• Report major repair needs and equipment conditions to supervisors.

• Assist in maintaining inventory of spare parts and workshop supplies.
