Network Technician II (Transmission)

Network Technician II is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and performance of our national and international transmission networks. Monitoring network health, responding to outages, supporting network upgrades, and helping ensure the reliability of fibre, microwave, satellite, and subsea transmission systems.

• Minimum of 3 CXC subjects, including English.

• 2-Year Technical Certificate in Electrical, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field, or a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.

• Strong understanding of network operations and telecommunications infrastructure.

• Experience with operational monitoring, incident response, and escalation processes.

• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain technical documentation, and manage operational records.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Monitor network performance and initiate escalations in accordance with established procedures.

• Prepare and maintain reports on network availability, faults, and repair metrics.

• Assist with the installation, testing, commissioning, and upgrading of transmission equipment and services.

• Support troubleshooting and fault localization across fibre, microwave, satellite, and subsea networks.

• Coordinate and escalate transmission network outages and service disruptions.

• Perform service restoration activities, including equipment configuration, rebooting, hardware replacement, and patching.

• Maintain accurate network, outage, and service records.
