Yard Foreman

The Yard Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating site operations to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards. This role involves supervising skilled tradespeople and laborers while ensuring adherence to project plans, safety regulations, and productivity goals.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Foreman or similar supervisory role in construction, maintenance, or industrial operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.

• Sound problem-solving abilities and adaptability to site challenges.

• Proficiency in reporting tools, site documentation, and timekeeping records.

1. Supervise daily site activities and provide direction to crews and subcontractors.

2. Coordinate and schedule labour, equipment, and materials required for efficient site operations.

3. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project schedules.

4. Monitor compliance with health and safety standards, conducting toolbox talks and safety checks.

5. Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve site issues promptly.

6. Track progress and report daily/weekly updates on productivity, delays, and resource needs.

7. Inspect work for quality and ensure corrective actions are implemented when necessary.

8. Maintain records of attendance, equipment usage, and materials received/used.

9. Support training and development of junior staff and enforce performance standards.

10. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or project management.
