We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Technical Sales Advisor to join our team in ESSEQUIBO. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in identifying the right tools, materials, and equipment for their needs while providing expert recommendations and excellent customer service. This role focuses on generating sales, building strong customer relationships, identifying new sales opportunities, and supporting store operations. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, a willingness to learn product knowledge, and a passion for helping customers find the best solutions.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 7:45 am - 4:30 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm
Requirements
5 Subjects at C.X.C, including Mathematics and English.
Technical Skills in our products will be an asset.
Must be computer literate.
Previous work experience will be an asset.
Must be willing to learn.
Must be physically fit.
Must have a police clearance.
Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities – Technical Sales Advisor
Assist customers in selecting the correct tools, materials, and equipment for their needs.
Provide product recommendations and explain features, benefits, and alternatives.
Generate sales through upselling, cross-selling, and identifying customer needs.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
Follow up with customers and generate leads for future sales opportunities.
Maintain strong product knowledge and stay updated on new products and promotions.
Support store operations, merchandising, and inventory awareness.
Assist with marketing activities, promotions, and customer engagement initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional sales environment.
Follow company procedures, safety guidelines, and provide operational support as needed.

Our original name, Silvie’s Variety Store, has been in operation since 1972 providing products such as Automobile and Motorcycle parts. We have since changed our name to Silvie’s Industrial Solutions and diversified into Hardware, Electrical and Industrial Products. Our Hadfield Street location attracts customers in the gold mining, construction, vulcanizing and manufacturing industries, etc. while our High Street location handles the motor spares section of the organization. We provide all replacement parts for the items we sell and we have the best after sales service in Guyana. We employ over 30 trained problem solvers who are dedicated to serving our customers and warranty is extended on all items except engines.
We are conveniently located in the heart of the city, and close to many of the bus parks. Free delivery is offered around Georgetown. We have a repair department that can handle any item that needs repairing or servicing. Customers can place their orders via telephone, WhatsApp or our website at www.silviesonline.com. We offer a layaway plan of 3 months. Some of our most selling items are food processing, agriculture equipment, diesel and gasoline engines, cement mixers, generators, woodworking equipment, water pumps, pressure washers, hoses, v-belts and a variety of parts and quality items to choose from.
We are open for business from Monday to Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
