Description

The Biomedical Engineer at Caribbean Medical Supplies Inc. will be responsible for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment. The engineer will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide technical support and ensure that all equipment functions efficiently and safely. The role also includes training end-users on the proper use of medical devices and staying up-to-date with advancements in biomedical engineering.

Requirements

  • Diploma/degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in biomedical engineering or a similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of medical equipment and devices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and technical skills.

  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.

  • Flexibility to travel to various healthcare facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

 Installation and Maintenance:

Install, calibrate, and test new medical equipment.

Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on all medical devices.

Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment promptly.

Technical Support:

Provide technical support to healthcare professionals regarding the use and maintenance of medical equipment.

Develop and update technical documentation and user manuals.

Conduct training sessions for end-users on the proper operation and care of medical devices.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all medical equipment complies with industry standards and regulations.

Perform quality assurance tests and inspections on all new and existing equipment.

Document and report all quality control activities and findings.

Research and Development:

Stay informed about the latest developments in biomedical engineering and medical technology.

Collaborate with the R&D team to improve existing products and develop new solutions.

Participate in the evaluation and selection of new medical devices and technologies.

Project Management:

Plan and manage biomedical engineering projects from conception to completion.

Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery within budget constraints.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Timeliness and accuracy of equipment installation and maintenance.

Customer satisfaction and feedback regarding technical support and training.

Compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Number of successfully completed projects and adherence to project timelines.

Efficiency in troubleshooting and repair activities.
