Description

A highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical operations within our gold mining processing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to manage and maintain plant equipment to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.

Requirements

  1. At least 3-5 years proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the mechanical field in a mining environment.

  2. At least 3-5 years proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within the mechanical field.

  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in mineral processing, including pumps, conveyors, crushers, mills, and similar machinery.

  4. Proven experience in problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  5. In-depth knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance.

  6. Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team effectively.

  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  8. Proficient in using mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  •  Supervise and lead the mechanical maintenance team to ensure effective operation and upkeep of processing plant equipment, including crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other mechanical systems.

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee routine maintenance activities and emergency repairs to minimize plant downtime and ensure optimal performance.

  • Provide hands-on support and guidance during troubleshooting and problem-solving of mechanical issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational standards, and environmental policies at all times.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and lifespan.

  • Monitor mechanical performance metrics, generate reports, and recommend improvements to optimize operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., electrical, processing) to ensure coordinated operations and effective plant performance.

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate mechanical team members, fostering a high-performance culture and encouraging continuous improvement.

  • Ensure that the spare parts and materials are properly stocked and readily available for repairs and maintenance work.

  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and modification of mechanical systems and equipment as required.

  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized mechanical services, equipment upgrades, and parts supply.

  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and audit purposes.
