Purpose of the Position

The Processing Clerk supports customs brokerage operations by ensuring accurate data entry, proper shipment tracking, effective document management, and timely application processing. The role helps ensure compliance with local regulations and improves the efficiency of shipment processing using the ASYCUDA World system and related administrative processes.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience in an office, customs, logistics, or shipping environment is an advantage

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email)

  • Willingness to learn customs procedures and regulations

  • Ability to keep records organized and up to date

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. ASYCUDA Processing

  • Enter customs entries accurately into the ASYCUDA World system.

  • Submit exemption applications for qualifying shipments.

  • Prepare and verify waybills and related customs documents.

2. Shipment Tracking and Logging

  • Track incoming shipments and update their status regularly.

  • Maintain accurate records in the Operations Log and Master Log Sheet.

  • Communicate shipment updates to internal teams and clients when required.

3. Documentation Management

  • Create and maintain organized hard copy and digital files for all transactions.

  • Download, print, scan, and file documents required for customs clearance.

  • Ensure all documents are properly labeled and easy to retrieve.

4. Licensing and Application Support

  • Prepare and process import licenses for specific shipments.

  • Complete and submit registration or licensing forms as required by authorities.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to support timely approval of applications.
