SECURITY OFFICER

The Security Officer is responsible for supporting the protection of JSB Investments Inc.'s employees, visitors, property, equipment, materials and premises at the Soesdyke location. The role controls access, monitors persons and vehicles entering and leaving, performs assigned patrols, verifies required gate and movement documentation, maintains accurate security records, identifies irregularities and reports security, conduct and administrative concerns through the appropriate reporting line. As a Level 3 employee, the Security Officer is expected to work reliably with limited routine supervision, apply approved security procedures consistently and take responsibility for accurate reporting and timely escalation.

Shift - 6 am - 6pm Monday to Saturday

• Relevant security, protective-services, access-control or comparable work experience is desirable.

• Ability to maintain clear visitor, vehicle, gate, patrol and incident records.

• Good observation skills, alertness and ability to recognize unusual or unauthorized activity.

• Ability to communicate professionally and enforce legitimate company access and security procedures respectfully but firmly.

• High standards of integrity, confidentiality, reliability, punctuality and personal discipline.

• Ability to follow instructions from the Human Development Officer and Office Manager and seek clarification where authority is unclear.

• Ability to follow workplace HSE, emergency and incident-reporting procedures.

A. ACCESS CONTROL AND GATE DUTIES

• Control entry to and exit from the Soesdyke premises in accordance with approved company procedures.

• Confirm the identity, purpose and authorization of visitors, contractors and other persons where required.

• Ensure required visitor sign-in, sign-out and access records are completed accurately.

• Prevent or report unauthorized entry and promptly escalate suspicious or irregular access attempts.

• Remain at the assigned security post unless properly relieved or authorized to leave.

B. VEHICLE, GOODS AND DOCUMENT CONTROL

• Monitor vehicles entering and leaving the premises and maintain required movement records.

• Verify receipts, delivery notes, gate passes or other approved documentation for goods, materials or equipment leaving the compound where required.

• Identify missing, inconsistent or questionable movement documentation and refer the matter for authorization rather than allowing unsupported movement.

• Record material discrepancies or unusual activity accurately and report them promptly.

C. PATROLS AND PROPERTY PROTECTION

• Conduct assigned patrols of the compound, offices, yard, storage areas, perimeter and other designated locations.

• Observe for unauthorized persons, unsecured access points, suspicious activity, property damage, fire or safety hazards and other abnormal conditions.

• Check assigned doors, gates, locks or secured areas in accordance with established procedures.

• Report damaged locks, fencing, lighting, cameras or other security-related infrastructure when observed.
