ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Clinical Advisor for Primary Care Strengthening will support national efforts to improve access to high-quality, community-centered primary healthcare, with a focus on adult primary care, chronic disease management, and health system strengthening.
The role involves working closely with government stakeholders, regional health facilities, and technical teams to support the development and implementation of clinical guidelines, quality improvement initiatives, data systems, and innovative care models across multiple regions.
The position is based in Georgetown, Guyana, and requires regular regional travel, as well as providing technical support, training, and mentorship to strengthen clinical capacity and service delivery.
REQUIREMENT:
Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in medicine, nursing, public health, health policy, or a related field
Minimum three (3) years’ experience in primary care, public health, or health system strengthening
Demonstrated experience in chronic disease management and primary care service delivery
Experience working with government institutions or health systems in Guyana, the Caribbean, or similar settings
Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficiency in MS Office and experience with health data systems (e.g. REDCap) is an asset
