The Junior Accounts Clerk will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to ensure accurate financial record-keeping, smooth daily operations, and timely processing of transactions. This role involves assisting with accounting entries, reconciliation, filing of documents, preparing reports, and supporting the senior accounting staff members in routine financial duties.
Minimum of 5 CSEC subjects including Mathematics English & Accounts.
Certificate or Level 1–2 accounting qualification (ACCA, CAT, ABE or equivalent) will be an asset.
1–2 years experience in accounting or clerical/administrative roles (experience in fuel/service station environment is an advantage).
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and experience using accounting software will be an asset.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
Good communication, organization and time-management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with integrity.
Assist with daily data entry of sales, expenses, purchases and other accounting transactions into the accounting system.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers and supporting documents.
Assist in bank deposits, bank reconciliation and petty cash management.
Maintain filing systems for financial documents, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with stock reports, fuel reconciliations and supplier payment schedules.
Support preparation of monthly financial reports, payroll assistance, NIS & PAYE submissions where required.
Verify bills, receipts and documentation before posting to ledger accounts.
Assist in reconciliation of daily sales reports from the pumps and mini mart.
Liaise with suppliers, staff and management regarding accounting queries.
Perform general administrative tasks and any other related duties assigned by management.
Follow all safety guidelines and company policies.
Any other duties that maybe assigned by the Senior Accountants Clerk of Accountant
