Description

  • To receive and or dispatch cargo accurately and on a timely basis to/from Warehouse and the customer to avoid any penalties, fines and/or unnecessary delays.

  • Provide excellent support service to customers in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner to enable customer retention and enable new/continued business.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five GCE/CXC O-level passes including Math and English.

  • At least two (2) years experience in a similar activity

  • A valid driver’s permit with a clean driving record

  • Certificate of Good Character no more than three (3) months old

  • Knowledge of identification labels in transporting fragile materials/dangerous goods

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and any other related software

  • Good customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper custody and is responsible for accurate inventory in the warehouse to avoid any losses and prevent pilfering.

  • Ensure excellent support service to customers in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner to enable customer retention and new/continued business.

  • Prepare and issue customer quotations for freight forwarding, warehousing, and related logistics services.

  • Handle LCL shipments, FCL imports, FCL exports, and crating services, ensuring compliance with company procedures and customer requirements.

  • Responsible for weighing & measuring cargo received in the warehouse.

  • Ensure warehouse receipt are done in Magaya, pictures taken of cargo & uploaded in Magaya using the binder app.

  • Ensure piece count is verified and cargo properly labelled.

  • Ensure that cargo that is delivered to the warehouse is in fact cargo intended for CCA.

  • Liaise with the Operations Team to ensure that the required documentation for cargo being received is available and accurate and necessary requirements are met prior to freight forwarding e.g. fumigation, transhipments vs non-transhipments etc.

  • Verify serial/part numbers for tools to ensure accuracy and ensure that it matches what is listed on the invoice.

  • Responsible for the safe and secure loading and off-loading of containers/cargo, strapping and packaging of cargo on a regular basis.

  • Check all cargo prior to shipping to ensure that it is properly marked, labelled, weighed and measured.

  • Ensure cargo is properly tallied when loading/offloading containers.

  • Secure all Company tools and equipment when not in use.

  • Maintain Company tools in a clean, operable and safe condition.

  • Ensure orderliness of Warehouse.

  • Advise of warehouse stock which needs to be replenished.

  • Liaise with and/or report any defects or malfunction of any equipment in use in the Warehouse.

  • Carry out airport check-in and clearance of cargo at CJIA and Ogle.

  • Unstuff containers at the port.

  • Tally charter vessels.

  • Comply with safety and security procedures (as per CCA’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy) to prevent any accidents, loss of life, loss of cargo and loss of equipment.

  • Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be required to maximize the efficiency, productivity, teamwork, customer relations and enhance the entire operations of the company.
