Position Summary:
The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for the comprehensive management of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role encompasses vendor and regulatory payments, payroll supervision, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, VAT reporting, and staff oversight. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, including journal entries, labor and tax laws, and will be a Level 2 ACCA qualified professional with a minimum of four years of relevant accounting experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
Level 2 ACCA qualification is required.
A minimum of four (4) years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of Guyanese labor laws and tax laws.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Transactions & Compliance:
Vendor and Regulatory Payments: Manage all payments to vendors and regulatory bodies, including the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the National Insurance Scheme (NIS), ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
NIS and PAYE Reporting: Recheck and verify NIS and PAYE reports for accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
Customer Receipts: Record and accurately document all payments received from customers.
Confidentiality: Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding all financial and employee information.
VAT Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT reports in accordance with GRA guidelines.
Visa Card Transactions: Record and reconcile all Visa card transactions.
Wire Transfers: Complete wire transfers for salary payments, both local and expatriate, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Payroll Management:
Payroll Supervision: Supervise and recheck payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws.
Payroll Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of payroll processes and related regulations.
Accounting & Reconciliations:
Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts and ensure daily bank balances are accurately recorded and maintained.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
Petty Cash Management: Manage and reconcile petty cash, including expense verification and reporting.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries.
Vendor Invoice Verification: Recheck vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance before payment is processed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of tasks.
