Description

Demerara Distillers Limited & Subsidiaries (DDL) is seeking applications from interested persons with the requisite qualifications and experience, for the positions of Laboratory Technician.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) CSEC subjects, inclusive of Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry or Integrated Science, grades 1 to 3.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a diverse team setting.

  • Ability to lead a team and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately receive, label and prepare rum and non‑alcoholic beverage samples for testing.

  • Maintain and review control, flag out‑of‑spec results, and initiate corrective actions under QA supervision.

  • Accurately record methods, observations and results and prepare compliance reports.

  • Participate in laboratory audits, and projects aimed at optimising testing procedures and reducing turnaround times.

  • Perform routine checks of lab environmental conditions.

  • Mentor junior technicians and interns in lab best practices, safety protocols, and proper documentation.
