Description

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner as they enter and exit the store.

• Assist with store opening and closing procedures as required.

• Operate the cash register, process sales transactions accurately, and provide receipts to customers.

• Handle various forms of payments, including cash, credit/debit cards, and store vouchers, ensuring proper cash handling and drawer balance.

• Assist customers with inquiries about products, pricing, promotions, and store policies.

• Bag purchased items efficiently and securely.

• Resolve or escalate customer complaints or concerns professionally and courteously.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization around the checkout area.

• Monitor and restock point-of-sale supplies, such as bags, receipt paper, and promotional materials.

• Unload, organize, and stock shelves with incoming merchandise, ensuring items are correctly placed and labeled.

• Rotate stock to ensure older items are sold first, maintaining freshness and reducing waste.

• Perform regular inventory checks to identify low-stock or out-of-stock items and report to the supervisor or manager.

• Organize storage areas and backstock to maximize space and efficiency.

• Assist with creating displays for promotions or featured products.

• Ensure the store aisles and shelves are clean, tidy, and free of obstructions.

• Handle damaged, expired, or returned items according to company policies.

• Conduct periodic stock counts to verify inventory accuracy.

• Communicate any customer concerns or product inquiries to the Supervisor or Branch Manager.

• Report any discrepancies, hazards, or unusual activity to the Supervisor and Branch Manager immediately.

• Support the Supervisor or Branch Manager with additional tasks, such as promotional activities or special projects.

• Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by Supervisor, Branch Manager or management of the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience: At least 5 Subject passes at CXC or equivalent (required) and 1 year experience in retail, customer service, or cash handling is an asset.

OR

Other Customer Service Certification with a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience.
