TOTALTEC Inc. seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Accountant to join our growing team. The Business Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer or Group Controller
A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in accounting and/or auditing.
Strong understanding of IFRS.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applicable.
Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits.
Accounting Operations:
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
Conduct and/or review and approve reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of all transactions.
Approve payroll and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking purchases, depreciation, and disposals.
Assist with inventory management and cost accounting.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data and provide insights into trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Prepare budget vs. actual reports and analyze variances.
Develop and maintain cash forecasts.
Develop and maintain project accounting or contract analysis models and files.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and other legal requirements.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Other Duties:
Assist with special projects as needed.
Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance.
