Description

The Quality Inspector at Guyana Port Inc. is responsible for ensuring that all shipbuilding and drydocking meet established quality standards, client specifications, and industry regulations. This role involves conducting routine inspections, documenting non-conformities, verifying corrective actions, and collaborating closely with operation teams to uphold GPI’s commitment to excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

1.      A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

2.      Knowledge of the marine/ shipyard industry

3.      Knowledge of marine systems and regulations/ PQR, WPS, and Welders knowledge.

4.      ISO 9001/ISO45001 certificate training.

5.      Certificate/ Degree in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control.

6.      Possess strong people interpersonal skills.

  1. Attentive to details and a sharp eye while on the job.

Responsibilities

1.      Assisting in the preparation of quality accounts and quality control reports.

2.      Conduct quality inspections on site.

3.      Monitor, track, and report quality work progress to the Quality Supervisor/ QHSE Manager.

4.      Accurate documentation of non-conformance records (NCR).

5.      Attend daily meetings to track the quality inspection required.

6.      Keep abreast with the CLASS surveyor (where applicable) punch list for operation to follow the work for final acceptance. 

7.      Follow up with all outstanding quality work onsite and operation to follow up closure.

8.      Understudying quality control supervisors in order to attain knowledge and competency in quality control methods and strategies.

9.      Issuing and completing of job safety analysis (JSA).

10.  Issuing of job permits.

11.  Conducting safety induction to visitors and new employees. 

  1. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Quality Supervisor/ QHSE Manager, that is within your scope of work.
