Buyer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team.
In this role, the Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing equipment, materials, and services essential to the efficient operation of quarry activities. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of supply chain processes, vendor management, and the specific demands of working within a mining or heavy industrial environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or equivalent.

• Minimum 3 years experience in a procurement environment.

• Experience using Microsoft Office Tools.

• Experience working with Document Control Systems and Processes.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• To ensure all deliveries are made in a timely and expedient manner.

• Maintain and update the Expediting Progress Report spreadsheet.

• Raising of Purchase Orders from Requisitions.

• Ensure all Purchase Orders and Requisitions are logged and filed.

• Run a weekly Manager Material report and meet with the Operations teams to advice on the status of Requisitions and Purchase Orders.

• To assist with invoice queries, costing of Works Orders and Tenders.

• To ensure effective communications are achieved with internal customers and relationships built up to deliver customer satisfaction.

• To fulfil an active role as part of the team.

• Contact Suppliers on a regular basis to assure deliveries and that information of orders are consistent with Purchase Requisitions and purchase orders.

• Research Suppliers.
