Job Description
JSB Investments Inc. is seeking a results-driven and highly organized Human Resource Officer to support and enforce HR functions across the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the selected candidate will play a central role in recruitment, employee discipline, training, culture enforcement, compliance, and workforce development for a dynamic company operating in construction, logistics, material supply, and administrative services.
Accommodation is available 10 minutes away if required. The position requires flexibility in hours based on workload and business needs.

Requirements

Desired Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management, Business Admin, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR roles within construction/logistics/operations sectors

  • Solid knowledge of Guyana Labor Laws

  • Assertive leadership and strong communication skills

  • High emotional intelligence and discretion

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google Workspace, and documentation tools

Responsibilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Enforce company policies and procedures across all departments

  • Implement KPIs, performance evaluations, and disciplinary systems

  • Build and sustain company culture and “Points of Culture” focused on respect, punctuality, cleanliness, and teamwork

  • Plan and manage workforce growth aligned with operational needs

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Lead structured hiring for field and office positions

  • Screen and interview candidates to match company culture and job fit

  • Develop onboarding and probation assessment systems

  • Build a recruitment pipeline for all technical and administrative roles

Employee Relations & Discipline

  • Manage grievances, absenteeism, misconduct, and interpersonal conflicts

  • Conduct investigations and recommend disciplinary actions

  • Support managers in enforcing performance standards and documenting behavior

Training & Development

  • Identify staff training needs and execute programs

  • Lead internal workshops and development initiatives

  • Establish clear growth bands from entry to leadership levels

  • Promote self-development aligned with business objectives

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee records, disciplinary files, appraisals, and benefit logs

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR standards

  • Create and maintain SOPs to streamline HR operations

Payroll & Administration Oversight

  • Coordinate with Payroll to ensure accurate processing

  • Monitor salary deductions, loan recovery, and benefits

  • Track leave, overtime, and attendance

Engagement, Culture & Welfare

  • Foster clean, respectful, and collaborative work environments

  • Design employee appreciation and engagement programs

  • Coordinate staff participation in ESG, volunteer, or charity activities

Executive Support & Reporting

  • Submit weekly HR reports to CEO, highlighting key issues, trends, and staffing needs

  • Proactively flag policy violations and recommend corrective action

  • Serve as a bridge between senior leadership and workforce implementation

Nice to Haves:

  • Prior experience managing HR in multi-department companies

  • Familiarity with employee recognition, retention, and incentive systems
