Description

The Security Supervisor plays a key role in overseeing the planning, execution, and improvement of the EMGL Security Program for offshore operations. The Security Supervisor acts as the main contact for the EMGL Security Department in offshore activities, working closely with the Security Lead. Manage security support for various offshore operations, including Seismic, Wells/UIS, and Production, under the guidance of the Security Lead. Participate in regulatory inspections and ISPS exercises with MARAD in Guyana. Review and contribute to the development of security plans for sites and facilities. Communicate with external security representatives as necessary, maintaining an efficient offshore security program to respond to emergencies. Stay updated on security technology, inform relevant personnel of security issues, and attend interface meetings with security service providers.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in law enforcement, security, or the military.

  • This experience should include roles involving staff supervision, security program administration, crime prevention, and crisis management.

  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.

  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.

  • Familiarity with asset management and protection.

  • Experience in managing security programs both onshore and offshore.

  • Understanding of security logistics.

  • Knowledgeable about security legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Familiarity with security systems and technologies.

  • Project management skills.

  • Understanding of criminal investigation processes.

  • Knowledge of criminal intelligence and national intelligence.

  • Understanding of crisis/disaster planning and management.

  • Ability to appreciate, identify, and reduce risks.

  • Strong leadership and influence skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral, written, and active listening communication.

  • Highly effective organizational, time management, and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) certification.

  • BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) certification.

Responsibilities

Support EMGL offshore activities by providing necessary security assistance.

• Contribute to developing and putting in place security plans for offshore operations.

• Maintain an efficient security program, covering policies, practices, procedures, and technology, to respond effectively to security emergencies and evacuations in a cost-effective manner.

• Implement and document the Offshore Security and Emergency Response Plan (SSAP).

• Implement and document the Transport Technical Evaluation (TTE) Matrix for Offshore activities.

• Take part in regulatory inspections and exercises related to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) with the Maritime Administration (MARAD).

• Review the Port Facility Security Assessment (PFSA) and Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) when provided by the Regional Security Officer (RSO).

• Stay updated on the latest security practices and technology for asset protection.

• Keep the Security Lead (Offshore) informed about security issues regularly and promptly.

• Participate in Offshore Quality Assurance and Safety Reviews (QASRs).

• Participate in Safety Data Performance Reviews (SDPR) and Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs) related to offshore operations.

• Inspect security vessels during on-hire processes in collaboration with the Logistics Department.

• Periodically review security measures for vessels under hire.

• Adhere to EMGL Values and Behaviour Framework, demonstrating commitment to safety, security, environment, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.
