Description

A Major International Operator is currently seeking a Draftsman/Draftswoman.

Requirements

·        Knowledge of the professional environment

·        Knows methods of manufacturing metallic structures, boilerwork and pipework.

·        Knows structural dimensioning principles.

·        Knows welding symbols, isometric and mechanical drawing conventions.

·        Knows computer aided drawing and design techniques.

·        Knowledge of the law and regulations specific to the business.

·        Familiarity with computer tools: Excel, Autocad.

·        Ability to summarise, analytical mind, teamwork capability.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

·        Studies support documents: specification, functional diagrams.

·        Produces fabrication drawings by Computer Aided Design. (C.A.D.)

·        Performs feasibility studies.

·        Writes isometric and pipe carrier drawings.

·        Adapts process diagrams and system layout drawings as a function of customer requests and project progress.

·        Checks the validity of technical documents before distribution.

·        Ensures that drawings comply with the customer's request.

·        Sends precise and technical procurement lists for necessary equipment and materials to Project Manager to verify that they comply with predictions and so that purchases can be made.

·        Adapts to technological changes affecting his/her business.

·        May be required to perform part dimensional surveys.

·        Prepares methods statement.

·        Compile Fabrication Dossier.

·        Takes the necessary measures to minimise risks jeopardising Quality, Safety and the Environment.

·        Applies the instructions as regards compliance with HSEQ rules.

·        Supports the HSEQ system by taking part in discussions.

·        Proposes and carries out improvement actions, corrective and/or preventive actions.

·        Undertakes to follow the training necessary to develop his or her skills.

·        May be required to train new hires
