Description

This position has the responsibility of overseeing merchandising activities, ensuring product presentation in the trade aligns with Company standards. This position focuses on product placement, store inventory monitoring, maintaining store appearance, performance and market reporting and the training of junior merchandisers.

Requirements

·        Diploma in Marketing, Retail Sales or Business Management.

·        At least 2 years of experience in any of these areas (Merchandising, Marketing or Retail Sales).

·        Excellent Coordination, Communication and People Management skills.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MOS).

·        Must own a vehicle and have a valid Driver’s License.

·        Must be flexible to travel to the Company’s Merchandising routes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the staff of the Merchandising Department in the areas of Linden, Essequibo, Georgetown, West Demerara, East Bank Demerara and Berbice.

  • Responsible for the distribution of Merchandising and Promotional items (posters, freezers, signs, etc.) in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10.

  • Provides assistance to the Sales and Distribution customer base (businesses) developed by Sterling Products Limited.

  • Co-operate with the Sales Department to develop and implement new sales strategies.

  • Responsible for maintaining merchandising and promotional equipment of the Company whether placed at customers or in the Company and account for the same as well.

  • Co-ordinate the Merchandising staff to broaden the impact of the marketing and promotional activities, undertaken by the Company to increase the sale of products and services.

  • Provide support and assistance during the creation of new promotional messages and campaigns.

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with new and existing customers in all regions of the country that the company does business.

  • Work closely with staff and external clients to minimize conflicts and foster cohesiveness.

  • Provide assistance and support during major events sanctioned by Sterling Products Limited.

  • Assist in the gathering of data for Sterling Products Limited for market research, retail store audits and distribution services as required.

  • Preparation and submission of reports necessary for strategic decision making on a timely and consistent manner.

  • Compliance with all Company policies and rules.
