Description
The Production Manager will have overall responsibility for planning, coordinating and managing the mmanufacturing operations of Aura Manufacturing Inc.
The Production Manager will ensure that all required materials and stock are available for production, production schedules are achieved, employees are properly allocated, machinery is effectively utilised and finished products meet the company’s quality standards.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Production Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, preferably within the furniture, woodworking, or related industry.
* Experience in production planning, scheduling, workflow management, and quality control.
* Knowledge of CNC machinery, woodworking equipment, CAD/CAM systems, and modern manufacturing processes would be an asset.
* Strong understanding of workplace health and safety, inventory control, and production efficiency.
* Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate production teams and contractors.
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to monitor production targets, manage resources, minimize waste, and maintain quality standards.
* Experience with implementing standard operating procedures and continuous improvement practices.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production/inventory management software.
Responsibilities
*Production Planning
* Prepare production schedules.
* Allocate jobs to appropriate machines and production teams.
* Monitor progress of all production jobs.
* Prioritise jobs according to customer deadlines.
* Identify production bottlenecks.
* Implement solutions to improve production flow.
* Ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
* Maintain accurate stock records.
* Monitor raw materials and finished goods.
* Ensure sufficient stock is available for production.
* Establish minimum stock levels.
* Order boards, MDF, plywood, laminates, edge-banding, hardware, adhesives, stone and consumables.
* Monitor supplier lead times.
* Coordinate supplier deliveries.
* Prevent production delays caused by stock shortages.
* Conduct regular stock checks.
* Investigate stock discrepancies.
* Organise and maintain proper storage systems.
* Monitor slow-moving and excess stock.
Staff Management
* Supervise production employees.
* Allocate staff to production activities
