Tower and Communication Technician

This is primarily a tower climbing (rigging) position.

Successful applicants must be comfortable working at heights and climbing communication towers between 50 and 460 feet while wearing full safety equipment.

If you are afraid of heights or are not willing to climb towers, this position is NOT suitable for you.

Kale Constructions is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Tower & Communication Technicians (TCTs).

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Climbing communication towers (50–460 ft) to install and maintain equipment

• Tower erection and rigging

• Installing antennas, dishes, cables and tower hardware

• Assisting with IT networking, electrical and solar installations

• Using hand and power tools

• Loading, transporting and organizing equipment

• Working safely in outdoor and remote environments

Applicants must:

✔ Be comfortable climbing towers up to 460 feet

✔ Have experience working at heights (towers, poles, buildings or similar structures)

✔ Have a high school education

✔ Have training or experience in Electrical or IT/Networking

✔ Be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and cables

✔ Be willing to travel throughout Guyana, including Interior and Hinterland locations

✔ Be available for flexible hours, including nights, weekends and emergencies

✔ Be able to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain

✔ Be able to wear and use all required safety equipment

Preferred

• Driver's Licence

• Experience working around heavy equipment, ATVs and small aircraft

• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

  What to Expect

  This is a field-based, contract position.

  You should expect:

  • Regular tower climbing

  • Overnight and multi-week travel throughout Guyana

  • Remote work locations with varying living conditions

  • Physically demanding work in all weather conditions

Under the direction of the CEO or his delegate, the Tower and Communication Technician will perform the following duties:

·       Assembly, Erection and Maintenance of Towers

·       Installation of Network and Solar equipment, Cables, Antenna and other Tower hardware  

·       Assist with electrical wiring and IT systems installation

·       Select and pack for assignments as directed.  This includes loading and unloading trucks, organizing convoys, etc.

·       Organize and store equipment

·       Check safety equipment post assignment for wear and tear

·       Attach loads to rigging equipment to provide support and preparation

·       Assist with general site cleanup and daily maintenance of rigging equipment

·       Ensure all work is done according to project and safety instructions

·       Other duties and responsibilities consistent with the business of Kale Constructions and role of the TCT
