The Facilities Manager is responsible for the strategic management, maintenance, and upkeep of all physical facilities and infrastructure across the Gizmos & Gadgets Group of Companies, including retail stores, warehouses, offices, distribution facilities, and future locations.
This position oversees preventative maintenance, repairs, contractor management, health and safety compliance, and facility budgeting while ensuring all company properties remain safe, attractive, efficient, and operational.
The Facilities Manager is expected to build a proactive maintenance culture, improve operational efficiency, reduce facility operating costs, and protect the company's physical assets.
Experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field.
Knowledge of general repairs, electrical, plumbing, and building maintenance.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to manage staff and coordinate multiple tasks.
Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT
Oversee maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, generators, backup power systems, UPS systems, CCTV infrastructure, fire protection systems, security systems, lighting, roofing, flooring, doors and shutters, shelving and fixtures, warehouse equipment, company vehicles, landscaping and exterior areas.
CONTRACTOR & VENDOR MANAGEMENT
• Source qualified contractors
• Obtain competitive quotations
• Evaluate bids
• Negotiate pricing
• Supervise contractor performance
• Verify completed work
• Approve invoices
• Maintain an approved contractor database
• Ensure contractor compliance with company safety standards
ASSET MANAGEMENT
Develop and maintain a complete asset register including equipment, furniture, fixtures, mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, building assets, vehicles, warranties, service history and replacement schedules.
Develop a fleet management data sheet and maintenance checklist for company vehicles to support effective asset and maintenance tracking.
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Develop maintenance schedules for monthly inspections, quarterly servicing, annual certifications, equipment replacement planning, warranty servicing and regulatory inspections.
Maintain detailed maintenance records for all company assets.
BUDGET & COST CONTROL
• Prepare annual maintenance budgets
• Control maintenance costs
• Evaluate repair versus replacement decisions
• Identify cost-saving opportunities
• Recommend energy-efficient improvements
HEALTH, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations, fire safety standards, building regulations, emergency preparedness requirements, environmental standards and company safety policies.
Conduct routine safety inspections and recommend corrective actions.
SPACE PLANNING & FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS
Coordinate office layouts, retail store layouts, warehouse optimization, storage improvements, customer flow enhancements, workplace improvements.
SUSTAINABILITY & ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Identify opportunities to reduce utility costs, improve energy efficiency, reduce water consumption, improve backup power reliability, extend equipment lifespan and improve environmental performance.
