The role is responsible for providing primary support to the efficient functioning of the finance department. The essential duties are ensuring that accounts payable and receivables transactions are kept up to date, inventory management and filing and record keeping. The JUNIOR FINANCE ASSISTANT will also ensure that the organisation’s finance policies and procedure are adhered to at all times.
Five CXC Subjects with passes in English A, Principle of Accounts and Mathematics
Bookkeeping: Assisting with daily accounting tasks, including recording transactions and updating financial records.
· Accounts Payable: Process invoices in accordance with company policy, verify accuracy, monitor accounts payable and ensure timely payment of bills, monthly supplier reconciliations, maintaining AR and AP records
Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements and ledger balances.
Reporting: Assisting in preparing monthly or annual budget reports and financial summaries.
Inventory Management: Contribution to preparation of department inventory reports, processing Goods Received Notes, purchasing and distribution of inventory.
Record Keeping: Filing, scanning, and managing financial documents in a confidential manner.
Payroll Processing: Assist with payroll processing and statutory submissions
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial reports and documentation.
Transaction Processing: Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Compliance: Maintain compliance with company policies, internal controls, and relevant laws
