The Audit & Accounting Intern will be part of a dynamic team serving a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in audit and accounting.
We are open to hearing from all interested candidates who meet the following requirements:
Education:
Minimum of 6 CSEC subjects, including Mathematics and Principles of Accounts
Pursuing or holding a CAT or ACCA qualification would be considered an asset
Experience:
No prior work experience is required. However, any internship or exposure to accounting or audit functions would be considered an asset.
Technical Skills:
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to use basic computer applications and systems
Knowledge:
Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts
General awareness of financial processes (e.g., invoices, reconciliations) is an advantage
Willingness to learn and develop knowledge in audit and accounting
Skills:
Good attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Basic organizational and time management skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to take initiative and follow guidance
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is an advantage
In this position, you will be expected to support our Audit & Accounting function for various clients. You will:
Accurately input financial data into accounting systems and maintain proper records
Assist with audit fieldwork, including gathering and reviewing supporting documentation
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and schedules
Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice verification and tracking
Maintain and update client and vendor records
Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed
Compile and analyze financial data for internal and client reporting
Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines
